(Landstuhl, Germany-AP) -- It's been a sweet day for a rescued American P-O-W -- both in the hospital and on her breakfast plate.

Doctors at a German military hospital say Jessica Lynch has been moved out of intensive care and into a regular medical ward.

A medical center spokesman says Lynch is spending more time talking with members of her family, who flew from West Virginia to Germany over the weekend.

He says Lynch ate more solid food today -- pancakes and strawberries.

Doctors have said they think Lynch may be able to head back to West Virginia later this week.

Lynch was part of a supply convoy ambushed by Iraqi forces last month. U-S commandos rescued her from an Iraqi hospital April first.
