SALT LAKE CITY - A 3-foot bronze replica of the "Little Mermaid" statue has been stolen from the International Peace Gardens in Jordan Park on 1000 South and 900 West.

Police say the statue -- with an estimated value of more than $28,000 -- was reported stolen on Feb. 23 by a Salt Lake City Parks Division employee.

The statue had been at the park since 1955.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000 and reference case #10-34580. Calls may remain anonymous.
