OGDEN -- Ogden police are searching for a gunman who hit a convenience store clerk during a robbery.

It happened around 7:45 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of 9th Street and Polk Avenue.

Police say the store owner and clerk were in the back preparing to close the business when they heard someone enter the store. The clerk found a man dressed in black with a stocking mask holding six packs of cigarettes and other items.

Police say the man pulled out a gun and demanded money. When the clerk refused, the robber walked around the counter and hit the clerk in the forehead with the gun.

The robber then walked out of the store. A detailed description was not available.
