KEARNS -- Prosecutors have charged a West Valley City man with a brutal robbery at a Kearns 7-Eleven store.

Police say Robert Daniel Paupard entered the store on 4637 S. 5415 West just before 7 a.m. on March 25 and hit the clerk in the head with a chunk of cinder block. He then jumped behind the counter and emptied the register. He got away with a small amount of cash. The clerk suffered minor injuries.

Paupard turned himself on March 28. He's now charged with aggravated robbery and retail theft.
