SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah soldiers returned home Wednesday night from serving overseas.
Members of the 405th Civil Affairs Battalion were greeted by family and friends at Salt Lake International Airport.
The unit had been deployed in Afghanistan for the past year, working in reconstruction efforts.
"[It's] definitely a learning experience and a growing experience," said John Nelson of the U.S. Army. "It's good to be home."
The 405th is based out of Pleasant Grove.
