(KSL News) Key members of the Senate have announced a compromise agreement with the House on a $790 billion dollar economic stimulus bill. The new version includes help for victims of the recession in the form of unemployment benefits, food stamps, health coverage and more.

President Barack Obama has thanked Democrats and Republicans in Congress for producing "a hard-fought compromise." He said it's a first step to get the economy back on track.

Utah's 2nd Congressional District Rep. Jim Matheson is the only member of the Utah delegation who has voted for a version of the president's stimulus plan. He joined us live from Washington to explain why in tonight's Talking Point.
