A Utah House committee took a pass on a bill to restrict texting while driving.
One witness urged the law enforcement committee to prohibit texting while driving. Marilyn Larsen says this is not an issue just about teens. "They're all doing it, even the grandma. So I realize that it isn't a teenage issue. All ages are doing it. It's extremely dangerous," she said.
Larsen says she was nearly hit by a woman texting the other day in Heber City.
The committee debated two bills to prohibit texting but is not prepared to dispatch them to the House floor. Instead, they were referred to a standing committee.
