SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The House has voted to revive legislation that would limit public access to state waterways.
Bill sponsor Rep. Ben Ferry, R-Corinne, says he is drafting a revised bill to substitute for one defeated by the House on Tuesday.
The previous bill would have granted public access to only 19 sections of Utah waterways for recreational use. Ferry says he's acting for landowners along waterways who don't want fishermen trespassing on their land.
Ferry says the 19 sections offer year-round steady water flow. He declined to immediately specify how House Bill 187 will change the equation.
