SALT LAKE CITY -- Dozens of employees of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission will lose their jobs due to budget cuts.
The Commission says the budget cuts will force them to close two stores, leaving 30 people without work.
In addition, costs will be cut by reducing hours to eight hours a day at the Salt Lake City Wine Store at 1602 S. 300 West and the Heber City Liquor Store at 262 E. Gateway Drive. In addition, the Commission is delaying the opening dates for new stores planned in Bountiful and Springville by several months.
The agency is trying to cut its budget by $1.6 million for the rest of this year and next.
