OREM, Utah (AP) -- Utah County will host its third annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day at Utah Valley University on April 10.

Utah County residents are encouraged to bring items like antifreeze, glues, adhesives, pesticides, fluorescent light bulbs and smoke detectors.

This is also the first year the county will be collecting old prescription medications.

Residents bringing by items are encouraged to not mix them and to leave the items in original containers with labels intact. Household waste in containers that hold more than five gallons will not be accepted. Neither will ammunition, explosives, business or commercial waste, electronics or tires.
