Stuart Skinner made 29 saves to help the Oilers improve to 20-15-1 and move into eighth place in the Western Conference. They have overcome a 5-12-1 start by going 15-3-0 in their last 18. Hyman completed the hat trick on a power play with 2:50 to go off a feed from Connor McDavid. Hyman has 25 goals this season. Kris Knoblauch became the first coach in NHL history to have two seven-game winning streaks in his first 25 games in the position. Evan Bouchard assisted on all three goals.

Eichel, Roy each score twice, Golden Knights top Islanders 5-2

Jack Eichel and Nic Roy each scored two goals and the Vegas Golden Knights beat the New York Islanders 5-2. Arizona State moves to 4-0 in the Pac-12 with 76-73 victory over Colorado

Jamiya Neal scored 19 points, Adam Miller added 18 and Arizona State held off Colorado for a 76-73 victory. Arizona State (10-5) moves to 4-0 in the Pac-12 Conference for the fourth time in program history, the last coming in 2007-08. Colorado's KJ Simpson scored six points during a 13-3 run and Tristan da Silva capped it with a 3-pointer that tied it 66-all with 4:53 remaining. It was tied again at 70 before Arizona State hit 5 of 6 from the free-throw line for a 75-70 lead with 15 seconds left. Simpson scored 23 points to lead Colorado (11-4, 2-2).

Samuel Montembeault made 45 saves and stopped all three shootout attempts, Cole Caufield scored the lone goal in the tiebreaker and the Montreal Canadiens held off the New York Rangers 4-3 on Saturday night. Brendan Gallagher, Sean Monahan, Joel Armia scored to give Montreal a 3-0 lead early in the second period. Vincent Trocheck and Artemi Panarin each had a goal and an assist, and Adam Fox tied it for New York midway through the third. Jonathan Quick made 27 saves.

J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson each scored twice and Quinn Hughes added three assists to lead the Vancouver Canucks to a 6-4 victory over the pesky New Jersey Devils on Saturday night. The game was supposed to be the second matchup of the three Hughes brothers in an NHL game but it never happened as Devils All-Star center Jack Hughes was sidelined by an upper-body injury sustained on Friday night. That left Luke Hughes of the Devils and Quinn Hughes to face off and the Canucks dominated with New Jersey coming off a very physical game at home on Friday night.

Reigning MVP and two-time defending scoring champion Joel Embiid missed the game for Philadelphia because of swelling in his left knee. Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 25 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. had 24. John Collins scored 19 points for Utah and  Jordan Clarkson had 18. The Sixers also played without Tobias Harris, De'Anthony Melton and Robert Covington.

Charlie McAvoy, Morgan Geekie, Charlie Coyle and Jake DeBrusk also scored for Boston, which has won five of its last six games. Hampus Lindholm and Matt Poitras each had two assists, and Linus Ullmark made 23 saves. The loss spoiled Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper's chance to become the 29th coach to reach 500 NHL wins for at least one game. Brayden Point scored two goals and Nikita Kucherov had a goal with two assists for the Lightning, who have dropped four of six. Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 20 shots.

William Nylander had two goals and an assist, Martin Jones made 23 saves and the Toronto Maple Leafs handed San Jose its 11th straight loss, beating the Sharks 4-1 on Saturday to open a home-and-home set. Mitchell Marner and Calle Jarnkrok also scored and Tyler Bertuzzi had two assists to help the Maple Leafs sweep a three-game California swing. They are 11-3-5 on the road and 20-10-7 overall. Mikael Granlund scored for San Jose. The NHL-worst Sharks are 9-28-3, also dropping 11 straight games to start the season. The teams will meet again Tuesday night in Toronto.

Luukkonen stops 40 shots, Girgensons scores go-ahead goal late, Sabres beat Penguins 3-1

Zemgus Girgensons jammed a loose puck by Tristan Jarry late in the third period and Rasmus Dahlin added an empty netter to lift the Buffalo Sabres past the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 40 shots for Buffalo as he continues to bounce back from a rough December. Pittsburgh had tied the game earlier in the third period on Rickard Rakell's goal. Alex Tuch gave the Sabres an early lead with his 10th goal of the season and the team earned its third victory in four games. Jarry made 29 saves for the Penguins.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown power Celtics to 118-101 win over Pacers

Jayson Tatum scored 38 points, making a season-high eight 3-pointers, and Jaylen Brown added 31 points as the Boston Celtics beat the Indiana Pacers 118-101 on Saturday night, snapping the Pacers' six-game winning streak. Tatum, who also had 13 rebounds and six assists, combined with Brown for 27 of the Celtics' 46 baskets on a night they shot 51% from the field and never trailed. Boston limited the Pacers to a season-low point total and outrebounded them 70-42. Bennedict Mathurin led Indiana with 20 points while All-Star Tyrese Haliburton finished with 17 points, seven assists, six rebounds and five steals.

Let's go Knicks!" Randle's 39 points were two off his season high. Isaiah Hartenstein had 19 rebounds for the Knicks. Kyle Kuzma scored 27 points but the Wizards lost their fourth straight. Ali Abdou Dibba's 23 points, JV Seat scored the game winner late and Abilene Christian beat UT Rio Grande Valley 91-89 in overtime. Hasan Abdul-Hakim converted a three-point play that gave UT Rio Grande Valley an 89-88 lead with nine seconds left. Kavion McClain missed a layup with a second left and Seat scored on the putback. Hunter Jack Madden added a free throw for Abilene Christian to end it. The Wildcats are now 6-8 on the season, while the Vaqueros fell to 4-11.

Chris Kirk takes a one-shot lead into the final round of The Sentry in the PGA Tour season opener. And he has plenty of company. Kirk escaped a tee shot into the weeds for a par on the 15th and birdied the final hole for a 66. He leads by one over 21-year-old Akshay Bhatia. Two shots behind were Xander Schauffele and Jordan Spieth Both have won at Kapalua before and know to expect anything in the final round. There were 12 players within four shots of the lead. The Plantation course is renowned for wild finishes of low scoring.

There was some bad news for the Steelers. The Ravens have already locked up the No. 1 seed in the AFC and held Lamar Jackson out of this game.

Freshman Praise Egharevba came off the bench to score 14 points and Oklahoma State defeated No. 23 TCU 67-59 as the Horned Frogs have to learn to play without leading scorer Sedona Prince. Prince was averaging 21.2 points but she suffered a hand injury in a loss to No. 6 Baylor on Wednesday. But that was the last field goal the Horned Frogs made, finishing 1 for 14, including 0 for 10 from 3-point range. They did make 12 of 13 free throw. Stailee Heard had six points in a 7-0 run for the Cowgirls that stretched the lead back to 62-51 with 3:17 to play. Madison Connor had 20 points and Jaden Owens 19 for the Horned Frogs

Pittsburgh's T.J. Watt injures knee, leaving his status uncertain if Steelers reach playoffs

Pittsburgh's victory on a soggy field left the Steelers (10-7) in position to reach the playoffs after missing out in 2022. If Buffalo or Jacksonville lose on Sunday, Pittsburgh is in. Washington's Carson Bruener looks to follow in father's footsteps and win national title

Many of the Washington Huskies feel a connection to the 1991 team that won the school's only national title with players from that squad visiting with them and sharing stories of their run. But as these Huskies prepare to compete for the championship again Monday night against Michigan, there's one player who shares the ultimate bond with someone from that team. Senior linebacker Carson Bruener's father, Mark Bruener, was a freshman tight end on the 1991 team that went 12-0 to win the national championship.

Mark Sears scored 21 points, Rylan Griffen added 16 points, and Alabama held on in the final minute to defeat Vanderbilt 78-75 in the SEC opener for both teams. With Alabama leading 77-74 with eight seconds remaining, Griffen, an 82% free-throw shooter, missed the front end of the one-and-one. To take advantage of what was still a three-point lead, Griffen fouled Tyrin Lawrence, who made his first free throw and missed the second. The foul-me, foul-you sequence continued over the final few seconds and Vanderbilt was unable to get closer than two points. Vanderbilt was led by Lawrence and Jason Rivera-Torres with 20 points each.

That extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA because of the pandemic-shortened 2020 season is paying off for the teams playing in the College Football Playoff championship game Monday night. Among Washington's 22 offensive and defensive starters, seven are in their sixth seasons and seven are in their fifth. Michigan has one starter in his sixth season and eight in their fifth. Michigan co-defensive coordinator Jesse Minter says all that experience was a factor in both teams making it to Houston.

Draymond Green reinstated from suspension by NBA after missing 12 games

Draymond Green has been reinstated by the NBA from his suspension after the Golden State star missed 12 games for hitting Phoenix center Jusuf Nurkic in the face on Dec. 12. The league says Green "demonstrated his commitment to conforming his conduct to standards expected of NBA players" during his suspension, which began Dec. 14. He has met with a counselor as well as had multiple joint meetings with representatives of the league, the Warriors and the National Basketball Players Association. Those meetings, the league added, will continue throughout the season. The Warriors have gone 7-5 without Green, who was also suspended five games in November for placing Minnesota center Rudy Gobert in a headlock.

The second meeting of the three Hughes brothers in an NHL game is going to be a minus one. All-Star center Jack Hughes of the Devils was sidelined with an upper-body injury and will not join brother Luke Hughes and New Jersey in a game against Quinn Hughes and the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night at the Prudential Center. Devils coach Lindy Ruff said Jack Hughes was injured in the Devils' 4-2 win over the Blackhawks on Friday night, a game that also saw Chicago's Connor Bedard, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, sustain a broken jaw.

Lille records club record 12-0 win in French Cup

Lille records its highest ever win in a 12-0 rout of Golden Lion from the French West Indies to reach the French Cup round of 32. Golden Lion is based nearly 7,000 kilometers from Lille and plays in the Martinique league. But Lille coach Paulo Fonseca respected the opponent by picking his strongest side. Canada striker Jonathan David and Kosovo winger Edon Zhegrova scored a hat trick each. There were no upsets although top-flight Nice needed penalty kicks to beat second-tier Auxerre at home.

TCU center Sedona Prince out with a hand injury. She averages 21.2 points and 10.6 rebounds a game

TCU center Sedona Prince missed Saturday's game against Oklahoma State with a hand injury that will apparently keep her out multiple games. In a release before the game, TCU said Prince got hurt in the 23rd-ranked Horned Frogs' loss at sixth-ranked Baylor on Wednesday. The school offered no other specific details, saying only that Prince is expected to return before the end of the season. The 6-foot-7 transfer from Oregon played all 40 minutes against Baylor and finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. She is the only player nationally averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots a game.

Southern Miss shot 49.1% from the field, compared to 39.4% for James Madison. Kings goaltender Pheonix Copley will miss the rest of the season after having knee surgery

Goaltender Pheonix Copley will miss the rest of the season for the Los Angeles Kings after he underwent knee surgery earlier this week. The Kings made the announcement on Saturday. The ACL reconstruction procedure was performed by Dr. Frank Petrigliano at Keck Hospital of USC. Copley suffered the knee injury during practice on Dec. 15 and was immediately placed on long-term injured reserve. Copley is 4-1-2 with a 3.16 goals-against average in eight starts. David Rittich will be the primary backup to Cam Talbot for the rest of the season.

Aijha Blackwell has double-double to pace No. 6 Baylor women in 87-58 win over Houston

Aijha Blackwell had 15 points and 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season, leading five players in double-figure scoring for sixth-ranked Baylor in an 87-58 win over Houston. The game was supposed to tip at 4:30 p.m. ET, but water was leaking on to the floor during warmups because of heavy rain in the area. Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was thought to be a third or fourth round NFL draft pick had he left school after last season. But his improvement in his second season at Washington has his draft stock skyrocketing. And some believe he could be taken in the first round after leading the Huskies to an undefeated season and the CFP title game Monday night against undefeated Michigan. "He's only helped himself with what he's done this year … and put himself in the conversation to be one of the first four quarterbacks drafted," said Dane Brugler, The Athletic's draft expert.

The 28-year-old was 1-1 with a 7.59 ERA for Cleveland last season, then was designated for assignment on June 4 and assigned outright to Triple-A Columbus a week later. He went 5-6 with a 6.08 ERA in 18 starts and one relief appearance for the Clippers. Plesac, a nephew of former big league pitcher Dan Plesac, was 26-27 with a 4.20 ERA in 83 starts and one relief appearance for Cleveland from 2019-23. The Angels assigned left-hander Adam Kolarek outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Dolphins activate LB Jerome Baker from IR, place Bradley Chubb on season-ending IR with ACL tear

The Miami Dolphins activated starting linebacker Jerome Baker from injured reserve on Saturday and placed edge rusher Bradley Chubb on season-ending injured reserve with a torn ACL. Baker missed the past four games because of a knee injury suffered against Washington on Dec. 3. His activation clears the way for him to return for Sunday night's matchup against Buffalo. Jaguars QB Lawrence and WR Kirk are on track to start team's regular-season finale at Titans

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence and receiver Christian Kirk are on track to start Jacksonville's regular-season finale at Tennessee that will decide the AFC South champion. Lawrence flew with the team to Nashville on Saturday after practicing in a limited capacity the last three days. Kirk was activated from injured reserve after missing the last four games following groin surgery. If the duo plays, the 9-7 Jaguars would have all 22 starters available for the first time since Week 11 against the 5-11 Titans. Receiver Zay Jones also has been cleared to return after missing the last two games.

Parker, Taylor score 15 each, NC State rolls past Virginia 76-60

Dennis Parker Jr. and Jayden Taylor scored 15 points each and North Carolina State defeated Virginia 76-60 on Saturday in the conference home opener for the Wolfpack. NC State, 3-0 in the ACC for the first time since the 2012-13 season, got 14 points, six rebounds and three assists from DJ Horne. The Wolfpack led 35-28 at halftime then opened the second half on an 11-4 run in which Parker scored four points and Horne hit a 3-pointer to give them a 46-32 lead at the first media timeout. The lead reached 21 when MJ Rice hit a 3-pointer and Michael O'Connell followed with a three-point play with 11:49 to go and the Wolfpack led by at least 13 points the rest of the game.

No. 11 Kansas State women top UCF 72-56 for ninth straight victory

Kansas State (15-1, 3-0 Big 12 Conference) has equaled its longest win streak under coach Jeff Mittie, tying the 2016-17 squad. The Wildcats have won 15 of their first 16 games for the fourth time in program history. Sundell, a junior, made 10 of 14 shots with two 3-pointers for K-State. She became the 45th Wildcat to reach the scoring mark, but she is the first to have at least 400 assists and 50 blocks to go along with it. Sundell, who needed eight points, reached the milestone on a jumper to open the second-half scoring. Glenn sank all seven of her shots with two 3-pointers, adding four steals. Kaitlyn Peterson topped UCF (9-4, 0-3) with 22 points.

Cryer scores 20, No. 3 Houston stays unbeaten with 89-55 win over West Virginia

L.J. Cryer scored 20 points, Damian Dunn added 14 points and No. 3 Houston improved to 14-0 with an 89-55 win over West Virginia in the Cougars' inaugural Big 12 contest. Cryer scored 16 points in the first half on 6-of-7 shooting, including four 3-pointers, as Houston shot 58% as a team and took a 48-22 lead into halftime on Saturday. Cryer has scored at least 20 points in five games this season. Patrick Suemnick had 12 points and five rebounds, and Noah Farrakhan added nine points for West Virginia.

Freshman Madison Booker's double-double leads No. 10 Texas women over West Virginia

Freshman Madison Booker had 15 points and a season-high 12 rebounds to lead No. 10 Texas to a 70-49 win over No. 24 West Virginia on Saturday.  West Virginia entered the game third nationally with 25 forced turnovers per game. But Texas fought through West Virginia's full-court press for easy early layups and never trailed. The Mountaineers couldn't recover from a poor start and saw its 13-game unbeaten streak to begin the season snapped. Shaylee Gonzales added 15 points for Texas and Aaliyah Moore scored 12. JJ Quinerly led West Virginia with 22 points.

No. 25 Auburn uses balanced offense to beat Arkansas 83-51

Chad Baker-Mazara scored 16 points to lead four Auburn players in double figures and the No. 25 Tigers rolled to an 83-51 win over Arkansas on Saturday in the SEC opener for both teams. Baker-Mazara, Jaylin Williams and Johni Broome scored every point in Auburn's 13-2 run to start the second half. Arkansas needed 6:30 to make its first field goal after the break, but by that point trailed by 18, thanks to the Tigers' three double-figure scorers.

Travis Konecny scores short-handed goal as Philadelphia Flyers top the Calgary Flames 3-2

Travis Konecny snapped a third-period tie with a short-handed goal, and the Philadelphia Flyers stopped a four-game slide with a spirited 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames. Morgan Frost had a goal and an assist for Philadelphia, which had dropped six of seven overall. Sean Couturier also scored, and Carter Hart made 22 saves. Konecny, the Flyers' All-Star representative, snapped a wrist shot past Flames goalie Jakob Markstrom on a breakaway 2:27 into the final period. Bradshaw's 3-pointer propels No. 6 Kentucky to an 87-85 win at Florida in their SEC opener

Aaron Bradshaw hit a 3-pointer with 1:27 to play and No. 6 Kentucky rallied to beat Florida 87-85 on Saturday in the first Southeastern Conference opener between the rivals in 26 years. It was just the third 3-pointer of the season for the 7-foot-1 freshman. Bradshaw finished with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats (11-2), who won their fifth in a row and ninth in 10 games. Florida's six-game winning streak came to an end. Zyon Pullin and Walter Clayton led the Gators (10-4) with 23 points apiece.

Fred Cleveland Jr.'s 24 points helped North Carolina Central defeat Howard 73-54. Cleveland also contributed six rebounds and seven assists for the Eagles. Ja'Darius Harris scored 21 points and added seven rebounds. Bryce Harris led the Bison in scoring, finishing with 21 points and he grabbed 10 rebounds.

Dawes and Richmond lead Seton Hall to a 78-75 win over No. 7 Marquette

Al-Amir Dawes had 23 points and Kadary Richmond scored 21 to lead Seton Hall over No. 7 Marquette 78-75 on Saturday for the Pirates' third win this season over ranked teams. Seton Hall held off a late scare from a well-rested Marquette, which hadn't played since defeating Creighton 72-67 on Dec. 30. Oso Ighodaro led Marquette with 22 points. David Joplin scored 15 points. Dre Davis had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Pirates, who never trailed in the second half. Seton Hall defeated No. 5 UConn on Dec. 20 and No. 23 Providence on Jan. 3.

Hinson scores 21, Austin has 20 in Pitt's 83-70 victory over Louisville

Blake Hinson scored 21 points, Zack Austin added 20, and Pittsburgh defeated Louisville 83-70. Freshman Carlton Carrington added 16 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Panthers. A 3-pointer by Jorge Diaz Graham put Pitt up by 12 points five minutes into the second half. A couple of minutes later, Hinson made three free throws for the second time in the game, giving the Panthers a 55-41 lead. Mike James, who led Louisville with 23 points, then hit three 3-pointers for nine consecutive Louisville points, but the Cardinals only got within 57-50. Pittsburgh scored the next 10 points and the Panthers led by at least 13 points for the remainder of the game.

Payton Sandford hit five 3-pointers and scored 24 points, Ben Krikke had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Iowa defeated Rutgers 86-77. Iowa starter Patrick McCaffery was ill and missed the game where his dad surpassed former coach Tom Davis for the most Big Ten wins at the school with 127. Mawot Mag scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Rutgers. Both teams started the second half hot but only the Hawkeyes stayed that way. Sandfort hit a 3-pointer and Owen Freeman converted two three-point plays and then had two free throws for a 66-52 lead with 12:16 to go. Blackhawks' Connor Bedard breaks his jaw, pausing the No. 1 pick's stellar start to career

The Chicago Blackhawks have placed rookie center Connor Bedard on injured reserve with a broken jaw. Bedard got hurt when he was leveled by New Jersey defenseman Brendan Smith midway through the first period of Friday night's 4-2 loss to the Devils. Nick Foligno also went on IR with a fractured left finger, adding another name to Chicago's long list of injured forwards. In desperate need of reinforcements, the Blackhawks acquired forward Rem Pitlick from Pittsburgh for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old Bedard has a team-high 15 goals and 18 assists in 39 games.

Chelsea enters FA Cup with comfy win. Aston Villa and Newcastle also advance

Chelsea's cup form could yet see it end the season with a trophy or two. The London side already has a place in the League Cup semifinals and has reached the fourth round of the FA Cup after pasting Preston North End 4-0. That should give U.S. owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital cause for optimism in a crisis-ridden run since their takeover in 2022. Aston Villa could thank Matty Cash's 87th-minute winner at Riverside Stadium for beating Middlesbrough 1-0. Alexander Isak has scored twice for Newcastle to win the first northeast derby in eight years against Sunderland 3-0.

PSG defender Milan Škriniar needs operation on left ankle

Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Škriniar will have an operation after dislocating his left ankle. It may rule him out of both legs of the Champions League round-of-16 contest against Real Sociedad. PSG says tests revealed damage to the side of the ankle and that he will have the operation next week in Qatar. The Slovakia international could be out for several weeks. He limped off in the 71st minute of Wednesday's Champions Trophy win against Toulouse. PSG faces Sociedad on Feb. 14 and March 5.

Anthony Joshua to fight MMA star Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua's next fight will be against MMA star Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia. Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn says it's a "done deal" and that details will be announced at a press conference in London on Jan. 15. Ngannou has only boxed once professionally, when he knocked down Tyson Fury before losing in a split-decision to the reigning WBC heavyweight champion in late October. A date for the Riyadh fight wasn't announced but it looks likely to take place in March.

South Dakota State seeking FCS title repeat, Montana in first championship game since '09

South Dakota State is seeking to repeat as NCAA champions in the Football Championship Subdivision. The top-seeded undefeated Jackrabbits take a 28-game winning streak into Sunday's title game against No. 2 seed Montana in Frisco, Texas. This is Jimmy Rogers' first year as the Jackrabbits head coach. He was their defensive coordinator for last year's championship, and was a linebacker and captain for their first playoff team in 2009. Montana is playing in its first title game since 2009. The Grizzlies are two-time champions in the second-tier of Division I football. They won titles in 1995 and 2001.

Swiss ski star Odermatt dominates to win World Cup giant slalom in the fog at home in Adelboden

Swiss ski star Marco Odermatt is unstoppable in giant slaloms and proved it again Saturday racing through fog at his home World Cup classic. Odermatt dominated in a wire-to-wire win at Adelboden by more than a second. He joins skiing greats Ingemar Stenmark and Hermann Maier by winning in three straight years on the storied Chuenisbärgli course that is a rolling cow pasture in summer. He celebrated with a body-surfing leap onto the finish-area safety barrier. Odermatt padded his huge 1.04-second lead from the first run to finish 1.26 ahead of Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. Filip Zubcic was third.

Sabalenka sets up a Brisbane final vs Rybakina. It's a rematch of the 2023 Australian Open decider

Aryna Sabalenka has overpowered two-time champion Victoria Azarenka 6-2, 6-4 to earn a spot in the Brisbane International final against Elena Rybakina, a rematch of last year's Australian Open championship decider. The win extended top-seeded Sabalenka's streak to 15 on Australian soil. That streak includes a title run in Adelaide to start 2023 immediately before her Grand Slam breakthrough at Melbourne Park. Sabalenka leads 5-2 in her career meetings with 2022 Wimbledon champion Rybakina. It's the first time since 2015 that the top two seeds will meet in the Brisbane final.

Canadian skier Grenier takes rain-marred World Cup GS for second career win. Shiffrin is 9th

Canadian skier Valerie Grenier has won her second career World Cup giant slalom. She also triumphed at the same Slovenian resort a year ago. Mikaela Shiffrin finished the rain-marred race in ninth position. The American won the previous GS in Austria nine days ago. Saturday's result was the American's worst in 15 giant slaloms since November 2022 when she was 13th in Killington. Grenier was looming in fourth when she posted the best time in the second run and saw the three fastest racers from the opening leg all fail to beat her. Lara Gut-Behrami came closest to Grenier, the Swiss skier trailing by 0.37 seconds.

Grant-Foster and Grand Canyon host Utah Tech

Grand Canyon plays the Utah Tech Trailblazers after Tyon Grant-Foster scored 27 points in the Antelopes' 96-75 victory against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds. The teams square off Saturday for the first time this season. Utah Tech is 2-1 against the WAC, and Grand Canyon is 3-0 against conference opponents.

Coco Gauff to face Elina Svitolina in the WTA Auckland Classic final

Coco Gauff will defend her title at the Auckland Classic against Elina Svitolina after beating fellow American Emma Navarro 6-3, 6-1 in a semifinal. Gauff needed only 62 minutes to sweep past fourth-seeded Navarro and now has won 18 straight sets and nine consecutive matches over two years in Auckland. She is yet to drop a set and has lost only 15 games in four matches so far this year. Svitolina beat Wang Xiyu of China 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Philadelphia hosts Utah in cross-conference contest

Philadelphia and Utah square off in non-conference action. The teams play Saturday for the first time this season. Philadelphia is 13-5 at home, and Utah is 5-15 on the road.
