all-new Komatsu Equipment Days of ’47 Cowboy Games & Rodeo presented by Zions Bank is an experience from start to finish. It’s the new definition of fun for the entire family, and it’s happening at the $17.5 million Days of ’47 Arena at Utah State Fairpark.

Start and end your day in the Young Living Frontier Fun Zone, open each day from 4-11 p.m. It all takes place Thursday, July 19−Saturday, July 21 and Monday, July 23−Tuesday, July 24.

For action

Buckle up for hard-riding, edge-of-your-seat action and pinpoint-precision roping, as world champion rodeo athletes put it all on the line for a gold medal and their piece of the $1 million purse. You’ll enjoy the best of the best in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, steer wrestling and tie-down roping.

It’s rodeo like it should be: hard, fast and exciting. Plus, with the new gold medal format, athletes will be competing for more than just the medals. They’ll be competing for their place in history.

For family fun

This year, family fun meets the Old West in the Young Living Frontier Fun Zone, where you’ll find fun for the whole family.

At the Country Music Stage, new artists will be performing every hour to fill the air with great music. When your toe starts tapping, don’t be afraid to join in on a line dance, or to start your own. It may be tempting, but if you spent all of your time at the Country Music Stage, you’d miss out on all that the Young Living Frontier Fun Zone has to offer. There’s also shopping, featuring trade and sales exhibitors offering the best in Western lifestyle goods. It’s like a cowboy’s Christmas in July.

Stop by the Tiny Tots Petting Zoo, where the entire family can spend quality time with their favorite animals. Then, to prep for the main event, be sure to stop by the Young Guns Arena. It’s a chance to see the next generation of rodeo pros as they compete daily in the Lil Buckers mini rough stock rodeo.

Kids from 6 to 12 will ride miniature horses and bulls. It may be inspiring to your own kids, but if you’re not ready to sign them up for the next Lil Buckers mini rough stock rodeo, sign them up for mutton busting, where kids will compete for the chance to make it to the mutton busting semifinals. The top six wool riders will advance to the bright lights and compete in the new stadium during the professional rodeo competition.

For romance

Dust off your cowboy boots for a good, old-fashioned date night. Start with dinner and a plate full of award-winning, fall-off-the-bone ribs. If the moment catches you, invite your date to dance at the Country Music Stage. With music in the air, and the two of you slow dancing at dusk, you may be caught up in the moment enough to forget that the rodeo starts nightly at 7 p.m. So, this is your reminder.

On your way to the show, let your cowboy charisma shine as you wind through the Western gift expo and Days of ’47 interactive area, where you’ll be able to test your mettle with free mechanical bull rides. And just in case you can’t get enough of each other, the Young Living Frontier Fun Zone will be open after the rodeo until 11 p.m., ensuring that you’ve got a place to go where chivalry and good times are a way of life.

For a darn good time

It all makes for some incredible summer memories. Start a new, centuries-old tradition this year at the Days of ’47 Cowboy Games & Rodeo. And with tickets starting at just $14, you’ve got even more reason to come down and check it out. Get your tickets at smitshtix.com or daysof47cowboygames.com. See you at the show!
