HOTCHKISS, Colo. — A Colorado man was arrested Wednesday after authorities say he killed a woman and dumped her body in Utah.
Edgar Macias-Moreno, 24, of Hotchkiss, Colorado, was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of Madelaine Loh, 27, also of Hotchkiss, according to Delta County (Colorado) Sheriff Fred McKee.
McKee said deputies received a missing person's report on Sunday from Loh's parents who said they hadn't seen her since June 19. Her employer said they thought she and Macias-Moreno had gone camping, McKee added.
Macias-Moreno turned himself in to Delta County Sheriff's deputies early Wednesday morning, according to authorities. McKee said Macias-Moreno told deputies he killed Loh and dumped her body in Utah.
Loh's body was recovered in Millard County by Millard County sheriff's officials about 1 p.m. Wednesday. Colorado authorities then traveled to Utah to investigate the scene.
