WOODS CROSS — An 18-year-old woman is in critical condition after a two-car collision Saturday morning, officials report.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. The woman was heading south on Redwood Road in a Ford Festiva when her vehicle collided with a northbound Ford Expedition near 500 South, according to Woods Cross City police officer Robbie Davis.

The woman in the Festiva was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The occupants in the Expedition — a woman and her three children — suffered minor bumps and bruises, Davis said.

Police said the driver of the Expedition told officers she saw the other vehicle driving erratically in their lane.

An eyewitness also told officers the Festiva’s driver overcorrected to the right and then “cut all the way back into the southbound lane” in front of the Expedition, Davis said.

Police are investigating whether distracted driving was the cause of the crash.

Redwood Road was shut down between 500 South and 1500 South for about one hour as authorities cleared the scene.
