MOAB — Investigators are looking for a semitruck involved in a hit-and-run that killed a woman near Moab over the weekend.
A motorist discovered the woman's body a short distance from her vehicle on state Route 191, 12 miles north of Moab about 7 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release from the Grand County Sheriff's Office.
The woman was identified as Cheryl G. Zimmerman, 50, of Lakewood, Colorado.
Investigators believe Zimmerman was southbound earlier that morning when she parked her vehicle and got out, and then was hit by a passing semitruck.
The semitruck, which apparently fled the scene, is described as a white vehicle with damage to the front passenger side.
Anyone with information should call the Grand County Sheriff's Office at 435-259-8115 or the Utah Highway Patrol at 435-259-5441.
