LEHI — TravelPass Group, a Lehi-based company, wants to send someone to Cancun, Mexico for six months and pay them $60,000. The catch: the traveler must share their fun experiences on social media.

"Swimming with whale sharks and zip lining through the trees, we want them to do all of it but with this person. We want them to show it to the world as well,” said Chad Meyerson, CEO of Cancun.com, a partner of TravelPass Group.

Meyerson has been with the company for three years and said the company’s goal is to find an applicant who enjoys travel just as much as they do.

“Quite frankly, we love travel. It's in the name of our company and it is deeply embedded in everybody that works here,” he said. “For this ‘job’, we want someone with the same passion.”

The search for a CEO or “Cancun Experience Officer” kicked off Wednesday with an online video explaining how to apply. Their site CEO.cancun.com has been busy since with applications for the position coming in from around the world.

“This is just day one and we’ve had entries from El Salvador, the U.S., Canada, Denmark,” Meyerson said.

The winner will receive $10,000 every month from March 2018 to August 2018. The experience will also be all expenses paid.

“Living expenses, excursions and activities ... they would just have fun and experience everything that Cancun has to offer,” said Jason Burgess, TravelPass communications director.

The company is looking for someone good in front of a camera and who knows social media. Their hope is to have the winner share their experiences online and, in turn, shed light on travel opportunities in Cancun.

Applications must submit a 1-minute video to CEO.Cancun.com by Dec. 17. The public can sign on and vote for their favorite applicant, which will help the company choose their top five by the end of January 2018. The winner will be selected by February and sent to Mexico the next month.

“Just show us how you would and why you would be the best CEO for Cancun,” Burgess said.
