TOOELE — A man in his 60s died after being struck by a vehicle in Tooele on Monday evening.

The man was crossing from the west to the east side of Main Street around 7:30 p.m. An SUV traveling north struck him near the 500 West intersection, said Tooele Police Sgt. Tanya Kalma.

The man died at the scene from his injuries.

The driver was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with officers. The pedestrian was not crossing at a crosswalk, Kalma said.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police have not released the man's identify pending notification of family.
