WEST VALLEY CITY — Two people are dead after a man shot his wife before shooting himself during an argument in West Valley City Friday morning, police said.
West Valley police said Nolan Anderton and Louann Anderton both died at a local hospital after the shooting.
Police said the two were married but were in the process of getting a divorce. Nolan Anderton was living in southern Utah and Louann Anderton was living in Tooele, according to police.
Witnesses said that the two were arguing inside a vehicle in the H&E Equipment Services parking lot at 4900 W. South Frontage Road at around 8 a.m. The man and woman got out and the man fired multiple shots, hitting the woman and then shooting himself, according to West Valley City police.
"We don't know why they were arguing, any background," he said. "We don't have any history with them."
Nolan Anderton had no significant criminal history in Utah, according to court records.

Police said it did not appear that the two had a connection to the shooting location.
