KEARNS — The first half of Kearns’ Thursday night matchup with Hillcrest belonged to the Cougars.
Or more accurately, it belonged to Sese Felila.
The junior running back ran for 106 yards and three touchdowns in two quarters for the Cougars, who ran to a 41-35 road win over winless Hillcrest.
But the Huskies (0-5) didn’t go away quietly. After Kearns (4-1) jumped out to a 25-0 halftime lead, Karris Davis beat the secondary and cruised into the end zone to pull the home team within a score.
But that was as close as the Huskies would get after a failed on-side kick attempt in the final moments, and Kearns held on for the win.
