LAYTON — A 36-year-old Syracuse woman was killed Tuesday night in a crash on Antelope Drive.

About 10:30 p.m., a Ford F250 truck collided with a Toyota Camry in the intersection of Antelope Drive and 700 West, said Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman. The driver of the pickup, a 17-year-old girl, reportedly ran a red light, he said.

Cindy Smith, 36, who was in the Camry, was transported to Davis Hospital and Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, Lyman said.

The teen driver of the pickup was not physically injured, Lyman said, but was later transported to a local hospital for "shock symptoms" as she apparently became overwhelmed by what had happened. There was no evidence of impairment, Lyman said.

The investigation into the crash, including potential charges, continued Wednesday.
