MERIDIAN — Ada County Sheriff detectives are searching for whoever vandalized the new Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints temple site on N. Linder Road over the weekend.

Deputies told EastIdahoNews.com that someone broke into the construction area between 6 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday and used black spray paint to cover walls with graffiti — including racist symbols and anti-religious messages.

The vandals also emptied tubes of construction adhesive on the walls and floors of the building, causing at least $500 worth of damage.

Investigators say there have been other reports of theft at the construction site since last year – including a welding unit and an industrial saw.

Deputies ask anyone with information to call Det. Justin Elliot at (208) 577-3702.
