BRIGHTON — There's nothing quite like being up in Utah's mountains. There is the cool mountain air, crunch of the snow and the view.

"It's fun, huh?" asked Junior.

It's something Junior misses every day.

"It brings up a lot of emotions. I'm happy and relaxed now that I'm back on the snowboard," Junior said.

He doesn't get to go up to the mountains much, but missing out on snowboarding pales in comparison to what he says he's been through. Junior knows what it's like to go without.

"(My mom) didn't have enough to pay for food," he said.

When things got especially tough, Junior remembers a car ride and a goodbye.

"She never came back," he said.

That was about eight years ago. He's been in the Utah Foster Care system ever since.

"I know I've been in like 10 different foster homes," he said. "It makes me feel kind of sad inside, but I try to look at it in a positive way," he said. "I still get a roof over my head."

Wednesday's Child - Junior

There is something he still doesn't have: a family.

"I thought I was going to go home someday, but it's not working out as planned," he said.

Now, he's making new plans and taking a big step Wednesday and putting himself out there.

"I want a family that I can be a part of," he said. "I pray for that to happen one day."

One day he wants to come back to the mountains among the snow, the cool mountain air, and he knows the view will be beautiful.

"I know there is a family out there for me, but I also know they're not there because I can't see them," he said
