WEST JORDAN — A 17-year-old girl was in critical condition Monday after a car and truck collided at 8200 South and Redwood Road, police said.
Around 6:45 p.m., a westbound Honda Accord on 8200 South was hit on the passenger side by a southbound Ford Ranger traveling through the intersection on Redwood Road, said West Jordan Police Lt. Rich Bell. The Accord reportedly skidded into a residential yard from the impact.
The girl, who police did not identify, was a passenger in the Accord and was pinned inside the vehicle, Bell said. The teen was extracted and taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.
A 19-year-old man driving the Accord was also hospitalized. His injuries were not life-threatening, though his exact condition was unknown.
The driver of the Ranger, a 27-year-old man, was not injured. Neither of the drivers were identified by police.
Police were still investigating Monday night which vehicle was at fault in the crash.
