SALT LAKE CITY — Stephen Colbert is taking over for the now-retired David Letterman later this year, and former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is helping him out with a show promotion.
In a new promotion video for the upcoming "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Sept. 8, Colbert says he will be talking about "news, tell jokes, and have fascinating conversations with celebrities, athletes, musicians, and of course, politicians."
Romney appears on screen as Colbert says, "Wow, you do a great Mitt Romney."
"I am Mitt Romney," Romney quips back. Upon which, Colbert tells Romney he's glad for him staying in character.
Romney then demands breakfast, saying: "Where are my pancakes? I was told there'd be pancakes."
Despite two failed presidential bid attempts, Romney has been a leader for the Republican Party elite and has been somewhat of a media darling as many have embraced his light-hearted personality since distancing himself from the presidency. Romney's charity boxing event with Evander Holyfield earlier this year garnered a lot of attention and praise.
