KEARNS — A 15-year-old boy was in extremely critical condition Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle that was involved in a separate accident.
A Nissan Pathfinder was attempting to make a left turn near 4270 W. 5415 South about 7:35 a.m., when it turned in front of an oncoming Nissan Altima, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.
"After the impact, the Pathfinder rolls and rolls over this 15-year-old male that's crossing the street," he said.
The SUV rolled just a few feet before hitting the boy, Hoyal said. Kearns High School is just a few blocks away. It was not immediately known Tuesday whether the boy was walking to school.
The 24-year-old man driving the Pathfinder was taken to a local hospital in fair condition, Hoyal said. The 46-year-old woman driving the Altima was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, he said.
The boy remained in critical condition late Tuesday.
