SALT LAKE CITY — A 60-year-old woman and 56-year-old man were arrested over the weekend after police say they engaged in sex acts on the lawn of a church where a wedding was taking place.
The couple were spotted by wedding guests on the lawn of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 174 E. 900 South, just after 6 p.m. on Saturday. At least four children viewed the obscene act, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report.
The arresting officer said one of the wedding guests ran into the street as the officer drove by to flag him down, according to the report. The officer said the couple had to be pulled apart as they failed to follow orders to stop.
Both were booked into jail for investigation of gross lewdness and public intoxication.
The couple were not believed to be part of the wedding.
