Hofstra rallies to beat St. Bonaventure

SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) — Ameen Tanksley scored 24 points, Juan'ya Green added 23, and Hofstra rallied to beat St. Bonaventure 89-83 Saturday, ending a two-game skid.

Denton Koon scored 14 with three 3-pointers, Rokas Gustys added 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting, and the Pride (4-2) shot 85 percent from the stripe, with Tanksley and Green combining for 20 of Hofstra's 28 made free throws.

Trailing by five at halftime, Hofstra twice cut the deficit to a point, then Green tied at 59 with a layup and Malik Nichols' basket gave the Pride a 61-59 lead with 10:45 left. Nelson Kaputo's 3 pulled the Bonnies within 81-80 with 37 seconds left, but Green and Tanksley combined for six free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal it.

Jaylen Adams scored 24 for the Bonnies (3-2), Marcus Posely scored 22, Denzel Gregg added 11, and Dion Wright scored 10 with 10 rebounds.
