CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes and Tee Higgins caught three scoring passes to lead No. 3 Clemson to its fifth straight ACC championship with a 62-17 victory over No. 22 Virginia. The defending national champions also wrapped up a likely fifth consecutive trip to the College Football Playoff. Lawrence had TD passes of 19, 11 and 7 yards to Higgins on the way to their 28th straight victory. The Tigers also became the first team to win five consecutive championship games.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Two people with direct knowledge of the negotiations say Florida State will introduce Memphis’ Mike Norvell as the Seminoles’ new coach. Norvell has coached Memphis to three straight American Athletic Conference championship games and just beat No. 21 Cincinnati for the 16th-ranked Tigers’ first league title. Florida State will introduce its new coach at a news conference Sunday, two people told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because an official announcement has not been made.

UNDATED (AP) — Picking the four teams to play in the College Football Playoff will be easy for the selection committee. Who is No. 1? There could be a lot of discussion about that Saturday night in that resort hotel in Grapevine, Texas, where the 13-member committee meets. LSU made its case for the top spot, thumping Georgia in the Southeastern Conference title game. Ohio State finished with a kick against Wisconsin. Clemson dominated again. The field will be set Sunday at noon Eastern.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Derryck Thornton had 19 points and Jay Heath had 16 points with the help of four 3-pointers as visiting Boston College ended a four-game losing streak with a 73-72 victory over Notre Dame on Saturday. T.J. Gibbs, who was held scoreless in a 72-51 loss at No. 3 Maryland on Wednesday night, led the Fighting Irish with a game-high 22 points.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — C.J. Bryce scored 18 points and North Carolina State shot 52% to beat Wake Forest 91-82 on Saturday and earn its first ACC win. Jericole Hellems added 13 points for the Wolfpack, though he had to be stretchered off with 28 seconds left after appearing to bang his head on the court when falling on a rebound attempt. The Wolfpack led much of the second half by double figures and hit a season-high 12 3-pointers. Brandon Childress scored 30 points to lead the Demon Deacons, who shot 52%. Wake Forest committed 19 turnovers that N.C. State converted into 27 points.

ATLANTA (AP) — Elijah Hughes scored 26 of his career-high 33 points in the first half, and Syracuse shut down the ACC’s leading scorer on the way to a 97-63 win over Georgia Tech. Buddy Boeheim added a career-high 26 points to help the Orange (5-4, 1-1 ACC) snap a three-game losing streak, and Syracuse held Tech sophomore guard Michael Devoe to seven points on 2-of-12 shooting.
