Packers pound Raiders to move to 6-1
UNDATED (AP) _ Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are atop the NFC North at 6-1 following their best offensive display under rookie head coach Matt LaFleur.
Rodgers threw for 429 yards and accounted for six touchdowns as the Packers overwhelmed the Raiders, 42-24. Rodgers had five passing TDs and completed 25 of 31 passes to eight different targets before finishing with the first perfect passer rating of his career. He also had a touchdown run for the Packers, who have scored at least 30 points in each of their last five games versus Oakland.
Derek Carr finished 22-for-28 for 293 yards, two touchdowns and two costly turnovers for the 3-3 Raiders.
Elsewhere during Week 7 of the NFL’s 100th season:
_ The 49ers slogged through a 9-0 win at Washington as Robbie Gould hit field goals of 28, 22 and 29 yards. A steady rain and whipping winds helped to limit Jimmy Garoppolo to 12 of 21 passing for 151 yards, but the 49ers held the Redskins to 181 total yards. San Francisco is 6-0 for the third time in franchise history, and first since 1990.
_ The Saints are 5-0 without injured starting QB Drew Brees (breez) after Teddy Bridgewater threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns in their 36-25 victory against the Bears in Chicago. Michael Thomas had nine receptions for 131 yards, and Latavius Murray ran for 119 yards and two touchdowns to help New Orleans move to 6-1. Chicago quarterback Mitchell Trubisky finished 34 of 54 with 251 yards and two late touchdowns in his first appearance since injuring a shoulder against Minnesota on Sept. 29. The Bears fell to 3-3.
_ The Vikings won their third in a row by getting four touchdowns passes from Kirk Cousins in a 42-30 win over the Lions. Cousins led the 5-2 Vikings on four straight touchdown drives and finished 24 of 34 for a season-high 337 yards. Matthew Stafford threw all four of his scoring strikes to Marvin Jones, but Detroit dropped its third in a row since a 2-0-1 start.
_ Jared Goff threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in the Rams’ 37-10 rout of the Falcons. Aaron Donald was credited with a sack, forced fumble and recovery on a play that caused Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan to leave the game for good with an ankle injury midway through the fourth quarter. The 4-3 Rams halted a three-game losing streak and dropped the Falcons to 1-6.
_ The Cowboys have regained sole possession of the NFC East lead at 4-3 by routing the second-place Eagles, 37-10. Ezekiel Elliott rumbled for 111 yards and a touchdown, while Dak Prescott threw for a TD and ran for a score to help Dallas stop a three-game losing streak. Brett Maher drilled a 63-yard field goal as the first half expired to give the Cowboys a 27-7 lead, one week after becoming the first kicker in league history with two kicks of at least 62 yards.
_ The Bills dodged a bullet and improved to 5-1 by erasing a five-point, fourth-quarter deficit in a 31-21 triumph over the winless Dolphins. Josh Allen passed for 202 yards and a pair of fourth-quarter TDs that followed Miami turnovers. Micah Hyde returned an onside kick for a touchdown after the Dolphins pulled within 24-21 with 1:45 remaining. Miami is 0-7.
_ Lamar Jackson ran for 116 yards and a touchdown while also making key throws when necessary in leading the Ravens past the Seahawks, 30-16. The second-year quarterback ran for an eight-yard touchdown late in the third quarter on fourth-and-2 to give the 5-2 Ravens the lead. Russell Wilson was 20 of 41 passing for 241 yards and an eight-yard TD in the first quarter to Tyler Lockett. Seattle slipped to 5-2.
_ Jacoby Brissett (brih-SEHT') threw a career-high four touchdown passes before Darius Leonard's late interception sealed the Colts’ 30-23 victory against the Texans. Brissett was 26 of 39 with 326 yards to help the 4-2 Colts withstand just 62 yards rushing. DeShaun Watson was 23 of 34 with 308 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Houston’s first loss in three games.
_ The Cardinals are a .500 team at 3-3-1 after Chase Edmonds rushed for career highs of 126 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-21 verdict over the Giants. Chandler Jones recorded four of Arizona’s eight sacks and forced a fumble as the Cardinals pressured rookie quarterback Daniel Jones most of the afternoon. Saquon (SAY’-kwahn) Barkley carried 18 times for 72 yards and a touchdown in his first action since missing 3 ½ games with a high ankle sprain. The Giants fell to 2-5 with their third straight loss.
_ Jurrell Casey recovered a fumble by Melvin Gordon at the goal line with 15 seconds left to preserve the Titans’ 23-20 win over the Chargers. The Chargers thought they had scored the go-ahead touchdown not once but twice in the final 44 seconds only to lose both on review by the replay official. Ryan Tannehill was 23 of 29 for 312 yards and two touchdowns in his first start since the Titans benched Marcus Mariota (mar-ee-OH’-tah)
_ Gardner Minshew threw a short scoring pass that put the Jaguars ahead 17-10 early in the fourth quarter of a 27-17 victory over the winless Bengals. Yannick Ngakoue (yah-NEEK' en-GAH'-kway) returned an interception 23 yards to clinch the win as Jacksonville left Cincinnati with an 0-7 record for the first time in 11 years. The Bengals managed only 33 yards rushing, all by quarterback Andy Dalton.

Hamlin wins in Kansas to stay in title hunt
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ Denny Hamlin has won a chaotic NASCAR Cup Series elimination race at Kansas Speedway by holding off Chase Elliott on a second overtime restart to pick up some extra playoff points.
Elliott managed to finish second and advanced to the round of eight on points when Brad Keselowski got boxed in on the restart and lost too many spots.
Kyle Busch wound up third, followed by Kurt Busch and William Byron. But the key was Keselowski, who dropped from 13th to 19th on the restart and out of the next round of the playoffs.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL-ALABAMA-TAGOVAILOA
Tua to miss Razorbacks game
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) _ Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (TOO’-uh tuhng-oh-vy-LOH’-ah) is going to miss Saturday’s game against Arkansas after undergoing a procedure on his high right ankle sprain.
Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban says Tagovailoa suffered the same injury in the SEC title game last season, but to the other ankle. The Heisman Trophy candidate and last year’s runner-up was hurt in the second quarter of Alabama’s 35-13 win over Tennessee on Saturday.

Ohio State jumps Clemson to 3rd; Wisconsin falls
UNDATED (AP) _ Clemson continues to get little respect from AP football poll voters, falling one spot for the third straight week despite running the nation’s longest winning streak to 22 games.
This time it’s Ohio State moving ahead of the Tigers and into third following their 52-3 win at Northwestern on Friday. Clemson did its part with a 45-10 laugher at Louisville.
Top-ranked Alabama picked up 24 first-place votes, No. 2 LSU collected 16, the Buckeyes claimed 13 and the defending-champion Tigers grabbed nine.
Oklahoma is fifth, followed by Penn State, Florida, Notre Dame, Auburn and Georgia. Wisconsin slid from sixth to 13th with Saturday’s 24-23 loss at Illinois.
Iowa State and Wake Forest cracked the poll, and Appalachian State climbed to 21st after winning its first ever game as a ranked team.

Canucks fend off Rangers in Gotham
UNDATED (AP) _ The Vancouver Canucks got off to a strong start in Manhattan this afternoon to win for the fifth time in their last six games.
The Canucks scored three times against Henrik Lundqvist in the first period before holding off the New York Rangers, 3-2. Bo Horvat put Vancouver ahead to stay with a power-play goal and Jay Beagle made it 3-0 with a short-handed tally.
Brock Boeser (BEH’-sur) also scored and Elias Pettersson had two assists to back Jacob Markstrom, who turned back 38 shots.
The Rangers dropped their fourth in a row despite goals from Jesper Fast (fahst) and Artemi Panarin (ahr-TEH’-mee pah-NAH’-rihn).
Elsewhere on NHL ice:
_ The Capitals blew a two-goal lead before Tom Wilson scored with 8:13 remaining to lead a 5-3 win against the Blackhawks in Chicago. T.J. Oshie, Nic Dowd and Alex Ovechkin (oh-VECH'-kin) also scored against Corey Crawford, Lars Eller added an empty-netter and Braden Holtby turned back 41 shots for Washington.
_ Zach Parise (pah-REE’-say) scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period of the Wild’s 4-3 decision over the Canadiens. Jason Zucker, Marcus Foligno and Brad Hunt also scored for Minnesota as the Wild won for just the second time in eight games.
_ Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine (LY’-nay) provided shootout goals and the Jets ended a three-game skid by downing the Oilers, 1-0. Connor Hellebuyck (HEH’-leh-buhk) made 28 saves for his first shutout of the season.
_ Cam Talbot made 29 saves and Mikael Backlund scored with 11:03 left as the duo led the Flames to a 2-1 victory over the Ducks. Michael Stone also scored in Calgary’s first victory in four road games.

Justin Thomas wins 11th PGA Tour event, 2nd in South Korea
JEJU ISLAND, South Korea (AP) — Justin Thomas earned his 11th PGA Tour victory and his second in South Korea in three years with a final-round 5-under 67 in the CJ Cup.
He finished two strokes in front of South Korean-born New Zealander Danny Lee.
Thomas finished with a 72-hole total of 20-under 268 at Nine Bridges.

Kang wins LPGA Shanghai
SHANGHAI (AP) _ American Danielle Kang shot a bogey-free 2 under 70 and won the Buick LPGA Shanghai for the second consecutive year with a tournament-record 16-under par 272. The 27-year-old American began the day one stroke behind compatriot Jessica Korda, who shot a final-round 72 to finish second at 15 under.
Liu Yu of China shot a 7-under 65 to surge into a three-way tie for third with Japan's Nasa Hataoka and LPGA rookie Kristen Gillman at minus-13.
PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS-RAIN
Final round postponed
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ The final round of the Dominion Energy Charity Classic had to be pushed back to Monday due to heavy rain in the Richmond, Virginia, area.
Scott Parel and Tommy Tolles share the lead at 12 under par, with Colin Montgomerie one shot back.
It’s the first of three tournaments in the Tour Champions' Charles Schwab Cup playoffs and will trim the field to 54 players for next weekend’s event.
ATP-EUROPEAN OPEN
Andy Murray wins 1st ATP final since hip surgery
ANTWERP, Belgium (AP) _ Andy Murray has won his first ATP tour final since having hip surgery in January for an injury that left him contemplating retirement at one point.
Murray rallied to beat fellow three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka (vah-VRINK'-ah) 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the European Open final.
It was Murray's first ATP tour final since March 2017.
MLB-UMPIRE-COOPER OBIT
Umpire Cooper dies
UNDATED (AP) _ Major league umpire Eric Cooper has died at 52 after having a blood clot.
Cooper became a regular big league ump in 1999 and worked the AL Division series between the Yankees and Twins two weeks ago. He had knee surgery earlier in the week and was recuperating at his father's home in Iowa.
Commissioner Rob Manfred announced Cooper's death Sunday.
