ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan basketball coach John Beilein and Michigan State's Tom Izzo are friendly rivals. There will be Big Ten title and NCAA Tournament seeding implications when the seventh-ranked Wolverines play the No. 10 Spartans. As much as Beilein and Izzo like and respect each other, the highly competitive coaches want to beat each other every time they get a chance. Izzo has not always had a good relationship with Michigan coaches during his 24-season run as coach or his 12 seasons as an assistant.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Jordan Poole scored 22 points to lead the long-range shooting barrage by seventh-ranked Michigan, as the Wolverines easily beat Minnesota 69-60 on Thursday to set up a weekend matchup against rival Michigan State for first place in the Big Ten. Jon Teske had 17 points and seven rebounds and Ignas Brazdeikis added 10 points for the Wolverines, who are tied with the Spartans at the top of the conference with Purdue one-half game behind. The Gophers missed nine of 10 attempts from 3-point range.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Kaila Charles made a buzzer-beating layup to cap a furious comeback by No. 8 Maryland, which never led until that final basket sealed a 71-69 victory over Minnesota. The Terrapins trailed by 16 in the third quarter, by 11 with 8:59 remaining and 67-60 with 1:58 to go before closing with an 11-2 run against the stunned Golden Gophers.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Bendu Yeaney scored with 3.8 seconds left and blocked a potential game-winning shot to lift Indiana to a 75-73 upset of No. 10 Iowa. With the game tied at 73, the sophomore drove for go-ahead basket.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska coach Tim Miles has apologized for a remark he made on a podcast. Miles was discussing how he and his family have dealt with media and fan speculation about his future with the Cornhuskers. Miles said if he gets fired, the university will have to pay him and he will still be a millionaire. Miles now says his attempt at humor failed.
