UNDATED (AP) — It's finally here _ the first of two meetings between Michigan State and Michigan, the in-state rivals that have looked like the class of the Big Ten for much of this season. While Purdue has joined the Spartans and Wolverines in the title race, the two Michigan State-Michigan games could obviously have a big impact on who finishes first. The Wolverines host the Spartans on Sunday.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Cassius Winston scored 28 points and Xavier Tillman had a career-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, helping No. 10 Michigan State beat Rutgers 71-60. The Spartans moved a half-game ahead of No. 7 Michigan and No. 15 Purdue in the Big Ten standings. The Scarlet Knights have lost five of their past six games.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Kaleb Wesson scored 22 points to power Ohio State over Northwestern 63-49. Kyle Young and Duane Washington Jr. each added eight points for the Buckeyes (17-9, 7-8 Big Ten). They snapped a two-game losing streak and kept their hopes alive of staying on the NCAA Tournament bubble with five regular-season games remaining. Northwestern lost its seventh in a row.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana athletic director Fred Glass is calling the profane chant directed at Purdue center Matt Haarms during a game "embarrassing." Glass thanked the students for showing up and cheering hard but noted it "reflected poorly" on the university. He asked them to knock it off.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Former Minnesota coach Jerry Kill says he won't speak again to P.J. Fleck. Klll told Sirius XM radio he thinks the new Gophers coach has let his ego get "carried away" since he was on his staff at Northern Illinois more than a decade ago. Kill coached at Minnesota from 2011-15, until epilepsy forced him to retire. Fleck replaced Tracy Claeys two years ago.
