TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled right-hander Ryan Tepera from Triple-A Buffalo and designated utilityman Jimmy Paredes for assignment.
Toronto has limited relief options for Monday's game against the Yankees. Closer Roberto Osuna has worked four of the previous five days and setup man Gavin Floyd has worked three of the past four. Joe Biagni pitched two innings in Sunday's 5-3 loss to Boston and Jesse Chavez worked 1 2-3 innings.
This is Tepera's second stint with the Blue Jays in 2016. He has pitched in three games, going 0-1 with an 11.57 ERA.
Paredes was claimed off waivers from Baltimore on May 16. He played in seven games, batting .267 with one home run and two RBIs.
