A former Army medic stationed in Hawaii has pleaded guilty to murder, saying he convinced a woman with whom he was having an affair to kill his wife.
Michael Walker says he arranged to have his wife killed while he was working in a Honolulu Army hospital so that he would have an alibi. He pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder, about a week before he was scheduled to go to trial.
In 2015, Ailsa Jackson pleaded guilty to murder, describing in court how she stabbed Catherine Walker.
Court documents say Jackson and Michael Walker plotted the killing via texts, email and in person. They are scheduled to be sentenced in February.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Brady says Walker told Jackson he couldn't simply get a divorce because of financial reasons and stood to receive $400,000 in life insurance.
