ROCKMART, Ga. (AP) — A coroner says a man has died and six others were injured in an explosion at a plant in northwest Georgia.

Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier says 25-year-old Justin Deems died in the explosion that occurred at 2:37 a.m. Sunday at JCG Farms, a feed mill related to chicken farming. The plant is about 50 miles northwest of Atlanta.

Brazier says one of the victims was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition. The conditions of the others are unknown.

Names of the victims have not been released.

Rockmart City manager Jeff Ellis told local media that the cause of the explosion is now being investigated by authorities in Polk County and the City of Rockmart along with state fire marshals. The cause of the explosion is unclear.
