DELTA — A young woman was injured after 'multiple rounds of pistol ammunition' were fired near and in front of a home she was inside Thursday morning, according to officials from the Millard County Sheriff's Office.
Millard Sherriff's Office deputies responded to reports of gunshots at 100 N. 300 West in Delta at 1:30 a.m., according to a Facebook post from the Millard County Sheriff's Office.
Officials reported that the woman only suffered minor injuries. Some of the shots struck the house and passed through the walls, according to the post.
The Facebook post states the incident may have been related to a verbal disagreement that occurred earlier Wednesday evening.
In an additional post on Saturday, officials said they made some "incidental arrests" based on search warrants and "other efforts." They have put a "priority focus on solving that crime," the post reads.
This incident was "not just alarming but disturbing," and was "an evil act and signals a slip in gear of civility by someone in that great community," the post says.
The sheriff's office is asking community members to share any additional information or surveillance video they may have regarding the shooting.
When asked Saturday, officials said there was no additional information about the case outside of the Facebook posts.
