KAMAS — A woman was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision near Kamas Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred around 10 a.m. on state Route 248 near milepost 11, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. Police said a man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck heading east when he crossed into the westbound lane and hit a gray Chrysler Aspen head-on.
The driver of the Chrysler, 38-year-old Angela Fitzgerald, was killed on impact, police said. A young female passenger in the Chrysler was transported by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported by medical helicopter to the University of Utah Medical Center.
The road was closed and traffic has been diverted to alternate routes. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
