SOUTH SALT LAKE -- Prosecutors have filed charges against the suspect in a pair of arson fires at LDS church buildings in South Salt Lake.

Patrick Ehat faces two counts of aggravated arson, a first-degree felony, and two counts of burglary, a third-degree felony.

On Oct. 30, South Salt Lake police responded to fires at two LDS chapels. Charging documents say Ehat poured an accelerant and started fires at both churches -- one at 3219 S. 300 East and the other at 2702 S. Main Street.

Ehat told investigators he broke into both churches through windows and set the fires intentionally and he did so because he, a member of the LDS Church, believed that the LDS Church had lied to him.
