SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A former Cache County construction worker is suing the county, claiming men are punished more severely than women for sexual misconduct.

Darrell Glenn claims in a federal bias claim filed last week that he was fired as a roads department heavy equipment operator because of a consensual sexual relationship with a female co-worker.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported Tuesday the lawsuit alleges that the woman acknowledged sexual conduct previously and with Glenn, but wasn't disciplined or fired.

Glenn also alleges that supervisors allowed sexual banter on the job, and human resources officials were told about those conditions.

He claims his firing amounted to retaliation for speaking openly about a sexually tainted work environment.
