COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The World Anti-Doping Agency has tapped chief operating officer and general counsel Olivier Niggli as its new director general.
Niggli will take the spot currently held by David Howman, who is stepping down next year. Niggli worked as WADA's legal director and chief financial officer from 2001-11.
He was appointed to the position Tuesday during WADA's annual executive board meeting where the group's leaders will also discuss the recent report on the doping crisis in Russia.
