CINCINNATI (AP) — Xavier point guard Edmond Sumner announced on Tuesday that he's entering the NBA draft even though he's still recovering from a significant knee injury.

The sophomore tore his left ACL on Jan. 29 and had surgery. He was still using crutches last week while the Musketeers reached the Elite Eight before losing to Gonzaga.

Sumner was Xavier's second-leading scorer with 15 points per game. His short college career has been limited by injuries, including a severe concussion and a shoulder injury. Freshman Quentin Goodin took over as the point guard after Sumner's knee injury.

Top scorer Trevon Bluiett hasn't announced his intentions. Bluiett participated in the NBA's pre-draft activities last year but decided to stay at Xavier for his junior season.
