MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have re-signed defensive tackle Letroy Guion, a move that could impact the return of fellow lineman B.J. Raji.

General manager Ted Thompson announced the signing on Friday.

A person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press that Guion agreed to a three-year deal worth $11.25 million. The person requested anonymity because the team does not release contract terms.

ESPN.com first reported the financial terms of the deal.

The 6-foot-4 Guion had 20 tackles in 13 games in the 2015 season, starting four games.

Guion was suspended for the first three games of the season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He returned to become a key member of a line rotation on the Packers' solid defense.

Raji is also due to become a free agent.

A respected locker room veteran, Raji bounced back in 2015 after missing the previous season with a right biceps injury. Raji had 22 tackles and anchored the middle of the Packers' run defense.

But Raji, like Guion, was also hoping to get a multi-year deal.

The Packers also re-signed defensive lineman Mike Daniels late in the season to a contract extension. With Daniels and Guion now under long-term contracts, it's unclear if the Packers would also bring back Raji.

Guion first arrived in Green Bay in 2014, when he started all 16 games and recorded 32 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks. He provided a stabilizing presence with Raji out.

Guion played six seasons in Minnesota before moving to the Packers.
