BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a man who was serving life in prison for the murder of his three children when he was named as the only suspect in the beating death of his cellmate has died of an apparent suicide.
Idaho Department of Correction officials say Jim Junior Nice died on Sunday of what appeared to be a self-inflicted wound.
Nice was serving three life sentences for the deaths of his children, and last year was moved to a maximum security prison after he was named the only suspect in the death of his cellmate at Idaho State Correctional Institution.
The Ada County Sheriff's Office has been asked to investigate the death. Nice was 53.
No other details were released.
