OREM (AP) — Kenneth Ogbe scored 18 points with four 3-pointers and Utah Valley pulled away early in its 95-59 rout of UMKC on Thursday night to win its sixth straight.
Conner Toolson and Jerrell DeBerry scored 17 points apiece with three 3s each and Ben Nakwaasah added 13 points with three 3s for the Wolverines (13-5, 2-0 Western Athletic Conference), who made 13 3-pointers and shot 53.3 percent from the floor.
Brandon McKissic scored 12 points and with five assists and Broderick Robinson added 10 points with three 3s for the Kangaroos (5-13, 0-2), who have lost two straight.
UMKC tied it at 7 on Aleer Leek's layup, but Toolson hit a 3-pointer and the Wolverines never trailed from there. Utah Valley hit six 3s in a 20-4 run and led 44-27 at halftime.
The Wolverines opened the second half with a 17-3 run capped by Nakwaasah's jumper for a 61-30 lead with 14:51 left and cruised.
