SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah football season is just under seven weeks away. Utah wide receiver Kenneth Scott was nice enough to come in to the KSL studios and spend a few hours with us to talk about the upcoming season.

"The grind is already underway," Scott said.

The 2012 season did not go as planned for the Utes. A losing (5-7) season will never be good enough, and if that isn't enough, the national media is not very high on the Utes.

"We like being the underdog. This year has a different vibe and we feel like we can overcome a lot that we weren't able to last year," he said.

Much of the problem has been at quarterback. Utah started last season with Jordan Wynn, and he lasted not even through halftime of the Utah State game. Jon Hays was very admirable when he replaced Wynn, but the keys were given to Travis Wilson in the sixth game of the season.

Scott feels like this year things are setting up a lot better to begin the year.

"We have a stable quarterback position," he said. "If you get put into the fire, you will get burned a little bit and this year he (Travis) is settled in."

It all begins for Utah on Thursday, August 29 at Rice-Eccles Stadium against Utah State.
