This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Today one of the top concerns for businesses is cybersecurity, especially in light of the recent breach of federal government employees which affected over 20 million people who will need monitoring systems in place, creating a big expense. Or how about large retailers where millions of customers' information was compromised? Fortune magazine states that only 43 percent of Fortune 1000 companies have technical safeguards in place. Perpetual Storage in Sandy understands this and company owners Pat and Susi Lynch have invented a private cloud solution for backup of critical information.

This service is called DataVaulting, and it can be used to transmit information over fiber optic lines to a server room where data is stored safety and security within the Perpetual Storage vault. Organizations can conveniently back up their irreplaceable and highly-sensitive data, so it's safe no matter what. Perpetual Storage has also created GoBoxes for disaster recovery. These are boxes where you can store important information like critical business documents, wills, family heirlooms and beloved pictures, so they're accessible and preserved.

Perpetual Storage is the owner of one of the only granite storage vaults in the world in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It's virtually earthquake and fireproof and comes equipped with maximum security. It has been completely upgraded with an electronic and communication system because stronger protection is needed. The entire vault has been recabled with the very best fiber optic cable, as well as extensive power source capabilities to ensure the facility never goes offline.

This is a vertically-integrated company, and their growth has been impressive, especially as new threats to data security emerge. Pat says Perpetual Storage has three parts: the vault itself, data vaulting for cloud security and storage of microfilm and microfiche.

The Perpetual Storage facility is designed for preservation of data that needs to be retained long-term. This is because off-site back-up is critical to protect highly sensitive information in a secure facility.
