ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Joe Scott has joined Georgia basketball coach Tom Crean's staff as an assistant.

The 52-year-old Scott spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Holy Cross following nine seasons as the head coach at Denver. He also was the head coach at Air Force and Princeton.

Crean previously hired Chad Dollar as an assistant. Crean, the former Indiana coach, was hired to replace Mark Fox on March 15.

Scott also served as an assistant coach at Monmouth and Princeton before his time at Holy Cross. Overall, he has worked for 27 years as a college coach.

Scott took Air Force to the 2004 NCAA tournament, the program's first appearance in the tournament in 42 years. He was 146-132 at Denver.

Scott was a three-year starter as a point guard at Princeton.
