MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Isaac Johnson had 29 points and 10 rebounds, Kobe Webster had 15 and 10 to lead Western Illinois to an 82-74 win over North Dakota State on Thursday night.

Delvin Ancrum scored 23 for the Leathernecks (12-14, 3-10 Summit League), who led wire-to-wire, including jumping out to a 10-0 lead to open the game.

The WIU lead reached 13 but the Bison (13-16, 4-9) did not give in. After getting fouled on a 3-point attempt, Jared Samuelson hit all three free throws to make it a one point game with 2:44 left. A quick 8-0 run pushed the lead back to nine, and NDSU never recovered.

The Bison were called for 29 fouls, leading to 41 free throw attempts for the Leathernecks, 31 of which came in the second half. The Leathernecks connected on 80.5 percent (33 of 41).

Paul Miller led NDSU with 27 points.
