Hall, Edwin help Kent State cruise past Toledo 85-61

KENT, Ohio (AP) — Jimmy Hall had 27 points, Deon Edwin added a career-high 23 and Kent State cruised to an 85-61 win over Toledo on Saturday night.

Edwin was 9 of 12 from the floor, making both of his 3-point attempts and all three of his free throws.

The Golden Flashes (10-9, 2-4 Mid-American Conference) had a 9-0 run capped at 62-37 by Hall's layup with 11:17 left and led by at least 17 the rest of the way.

The Rockets (10-9, 3-3) had their last lead at 14-13 and the Flashes pulled away to lead 38-24 at the half.

Kent State went 19 for 28 (67.8 percent) from the field in the second half and finished the game 34 of 59 (57.6 percent).

Steve Taylor Jr. led Toledo with 16 points and nine rebounds. Jonathan Williams added 15 points and Nate Navigato scored 10.
