ESTERO, Fla. (AP) — Jeremy Senglin scored a career-high 34 points, including a career-best eight 3-pointers, and Weber State beat Drake 74-58 Tuesday night in the second round of the Gulf Coast Showcase.
McKay Cannon scored 14 points, making 4 of 6 3s, Joel Bolomboy added 12 points, and the Wildcats shot 14 of 30 from long distance.
Senglin made three straight 3-pointers, Cannon sank another 3, and Weber State (3-2) surged early in the second half to a 47-34 lead.
Drake led 10-5, then the Wildcats started hitting 3s. Richaud Gittens and Cannon each sank two 3s amid an 18-2 run for a 23-12 lead. Drake's Graham Woodward replied with two 3-pointers and Reed Timmer hit a layup to pull the Bulldogs within 23-22, but Weber State outscored them 8-4 late to lead 33-28 at halftime.
Woodward led Drake (2-3) with 18 points.
