MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Tami Alade had 14 blocks, Kathryn Plummer had 12 kills and Stanford beat BYU 25-15, 25-15 and 25-18 to advance to the NCAA volleyball championship and avenge its only loss of the season. Seeking its eighth title, Stanford will face defending champion Nebraska in the title match.

UNDATED (AP) — US Soccer's Young Player of the Year Tierna Davidson saw her national team debut season cut short by an ankle injury while playing for Stanford. Now well on the road to recovery, the savvy defender is working toward the ultimate prize. She wants to earn a spot on the roster for the Women's World Cup in France next year.
